Job description
The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for managing the Merchant Gases business in the Vanderbijlpark and Khatu and Kolomela areas in a safe, cost effective and efficient manner, identifying and exploiting opportunities to improve performance and contribution to the regional profitability in sales of the Vanderbijlpark facility. The key responsibilities for this role include but not limited to:
1. Manage the depots in Vanderbijlpark and Sishen to ensure effective & efficient productivity and customer service;
2. Manage the depots in Vanderbijlpark, Sishen, and Kolomela;
3. Managing the Merchant Gases business in the Vanderbijlpark, Khatu and Kolomela areas;
4. Manage and ensure compliance to SHERQ company standards;
5. Continuously improving on personal and professional development.
Minimum requirements
1. Minimum Matric qualification with Maths & Science;
2. A Business or Marketing management qualification;
3. Minimum of 3 years experience in the technical selling and/or operations environment;
4. Minimum of 5 years Supervisory experience in a Sales area and managing facility/branch staff in the gas industry;
5. Must be deadline oriented;
6. Must have experience in report writing;
7. Computer proficient in the MS Office Suite (Excel, Word) and JDE;
8. Must have working knowledge of NOSA and ISO standards.
9. Must have a valid driver’s license Code (B) and own reliable transport.
10. Must be willing to travel.
