Introduction
The Sales Engineer will be responsible for growth in sales by bringing online profitable new business covering the full range of products in all related markets in accordance with pre-set targets on a monthly, as well as an annual basis. Further, maintains and services the company’s current regional customer base.
Job description
Key areas of responsibility for this role include but are not limited to:
1. Growing company sales through prospecting for new clients.
2. Account maintenance, customer satisfaction, and retention.
3. Growing Air Products market presence through various marketing initiatives.
4. Achieving agreed-upon annual sales targets.
5. Responsible for carrying out sales administrative and any related ad-hoc duties.
6. Actively acquiring industry knowledge for personal and professional development.
Minimum requirements
1. A Matric with Maths and Science;
2. Recognised Certificate/Diploma or Degree in Sales and Marketing, or Engineering Sales;
3. A minimum of 3 - 5 years of technical selling and/or operations environment;
4. A minimum of 3 – 5 years of sales experience in gas/chemical or related industry;
5. Must be computer literate and proficient in MS Office suite;
6. Proven track record in negotiating at high levels and building strong customer relationships;
7. Must have good verbal and written communication skills;
8. Strong attention to detail and report writing skills;
9. Valid unendorsed Code 8 (B) and own reliable transport.
